New Orleans East Climate Vulnerability & Community Priorities Workshop

Cropped from NASA Landsat image.The New Orleans East Climate Vulnerability & Community Priorities Workshop (also referred to as the "New Orleans East Climate Vulnerability & Risk Assessment Workshop" in various outreach materials) brought together New Orleans East residents to share their experiences with climate impacts, identify community climate vulnerabilities, areas of concern, and adaptation priorities, as well as map locations for future tree plantings in New Orleans East.

The information obtained during the workshop was used to shape an assessment of climate vulnerabilities in New Orleans East intended to guide future resilience-building efforts. Participants

• Learned how climate change will impact New Orleans East.

• Shared experiences and priorities for their neighborhood's future.

• Connected with neighbors, local leaders, and organizations. 

• Helped shape future climate adaptation efforts with the goal of supporting a greener, healthier, and more resilient New Orleans East.
