Overview

This rapid climate change vulnerability assessment workshop for the National Marine Sanctuary and Territory of American Samoa is part of a larger project intended to increase resilience and support adaptation for the region. The goal of this workshop is to assess the vulnerability of 8-10 focal resources (species, ecosystems, and ecosystem services) to climate change.

Workshop Objectives:
  1. Provide participants with baseline knowledge and understanding of climate trends (current, historic, projected future) for the National Marine Sanctuary and Territory of American Samoa.
  2. Assess vulnerabilities of ecosystems,species, and ecosystem services to climate change including sensitivity, exposure, and adaptive capacity.
This project is funded by the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation and co-led by EcoAdapt, Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary, the National Marine Sanctuary Program, and the National Marine Sanctuary of American Samoa.
