Revisiting Climate Adaptation Grants to Understand Outcomes & Data
Overview
EcoAdapt, at the invitation of the Wildlife Conservation Society, is revisiting projects funded through the Climate Adaptation Fund to understand their long-term outcomes and identify any monitoring data to support future efficacy testing related to those projects. This work includes interviewing practitioners associated with more than 40 projects funded between 2011 and 2015. Findings will be shared as case study updates on CAKE and made available as supplements to existing Wildlife Conservation Society project case studies on their website. Results will be evaluated for cross-cutting outcomes and lessons learned.
Objectives
- Understand the outcomes of these adaptation projects over the past decade ago
- Identify ongoing monitoring data relevant to their project and how it can be accessed for future research
- Identify observations and experiences of project staff with climate-related or extreme events that have impacted the trajectory of the project goals or outcomes since implementation
- Synthesize lessons learned from these projects, including facilitating conditions and barriers, as well as shifts in the financial landscape that informed or changed outcomes
