Bainbridge Island Sea Level Rise Conversations

Let's talk about sea level rise and what it means for our Island community! EcoAdapt is engaging with neighborhoods around the Island in conversations that help us dive deeper into this issue, sharing information about how to understand what sea level rise might look like for our Island, and what we, individually and as a community, want to do about it.
These conversations take place over the course of a couple of hours, and include:
- Sharing of publicly available data visualizations that help participants visualize what sea level rise and other climate change impacts may look like in the coming decades in their neighborhood
- An overview of the types of adaptation solutions that have been used across a variety of shorelines to respond to sea level rise
- A facilitated conversation about participants' concerns and ideas about sea level rise and how we can and should respond as individuals, neighborhoods, and as a community.
Our goal is to have participants emerge from the discussion with a better understanding of the likely timing and magnitude of sea level rise impacts on our community and of the options and opportunities that we can engage in to respond and adapt to sea level rise, as well as an increased sense of empowerment to engage in efforts to address sea level rise in our community.
